Marlene VanderSpek represents clients in all of their family law and separation matters, including property division, support, custody and access. Marlene is also able to assist with the preparation of Separation Agreements and Cohabitation Agreements.

Marlene is committed to providing her clients with effective and practical legal advice. Separation and divorce matters are often very complex in nature and Marlene understands and appreciates the commitment and skill required to resolve your family law file. Although the bulk of her practice is litigation-based, Marlene is also dedicated to using alternate dispute resolution models to negotiate family law disputes. 

Community involvement is important to Marlene. She represents children as a member of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer panel, and is actively involved in the St. Catharines family bar. Marlene is also a member of the Collaborative Family Law Group in Niagara and the Family Law Group of the Lincoln County Law Association.

Marlene obtained common and civil law degrees from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. While studying law, Marlene was appointed as Director of Human Resources for the McGill Legal Information Clinic and was able to serve clients in both French and English. Prior to her appointment, Marlene volunteered as a case-worker at the Clinic. Before studying law, Marlene earned an Honours Degree in French and International Relations at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
